ABOUT OUR FARMERS MARKET

The Fountain Inn Farmers Market has a large variety of fresh produce and craft vendors. Along with the Farmers Market we try to incorporate different activities and excitement each week. The Fountain Inn Farmers Market is located at 110 Depot St. Fountain Inn SC, 29644.

 In an effort to provide a safe environment at our Market, the following items are prohibited from being brought into the Farmers Market. Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, glass bottles, and coolers. We love our pets too, but pets are NOT allowed at Commerce Park.

VENDORS

Here are the categories of vendors allowed to sell at the Fountain Inn Farmers Market:
 1. Local farmers certified by a local extension agent or market manager. 
 2. South Carolina Certified farmers. 
 3. Vendors who purchase produce from South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia Certified farmers. 
 4. Greenville, Laurens, and Anderson County bakers and food vendors. 
 5. Greenville, Laurens, and Anderson County Artisans and Crafters.

NOT PERMITTED

  • No wholesalers and resellers.

  • No nationally distributed packaged foods or drinks, or resale of manufactured food products.

  • No premanufactured mixes.

  • No prepared foods from an unauthorized kitchen (kitchens not under DHEC, SCDA or Cottage Law with personal liability insurance).

  • No national franchises or corporate chains.

2019 Vendor Rules and Regulations

LOADING AND UNLOADING

Please arrive between 7 AM and 7:45 AM. Depot Street will be closed to all car traffic at  8:00 AM SHARP. If you arrive after 8:00 AM, you are not guaranteed a space. If a space is available, you must unload and transport your items from the vendor parking areas across from the railroad tracks.

 

ELECTRICITY USAGE

Electricity is available to every vendor, free of charge. Each vendor is responsible for providing their own extension cords and appropriate mats to cover exposed cords that interfere with customer walkways.

 

TARDINESS, CANCELLATIONS, AND ABSENCES POLICY

  • You qualify as late if your arrival is after 8 AM. If you do so, you are not guaranteed a space.

  • Three late arrivals will result in a one market probation.

 

  • If you must cancel it must be AT LEAST 48 hours in advance of said market. If you notify us the Thursday before the market, your fee will be credited towards another date.

  • If you don’t show up without giving any notice it will count as a “No-Notice Absence.”

  • Three No-Notice Absences: all your fees will be forfeited, and you will not be allowed to return to the market.

 

ENFORCEMENT OF MARKET RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • First violation: verbal warning.

  • Second violation: written warning.

  • Third violation: termination of booth rental space with no refund for the duration of the current market season.

 

Physical violence, verbal abuse/loud foul language, weapons, possession of or consumption of alcohol or illegal substances are grounds for immediate expulsion.

 

CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS/VENDOR COMPLAINTS

Customer OR Vendor complaints may result in disciplinary action including removal from the FIFM.

 

WEATHER

We will only cancel due to an extreme weather forecast which poses a safety hazard to our vendors and customers.  In the event of cancellation due to severe weather an email from our staff will be sent to notify vendors, and the fee will be transferred to another market day.

The Farmers Market offers many elements of programming throughout the season. At times there will be different events and activities going on; for example a trackless train, music, kids entertainment and more. This means there may be more noise and additional children in attendance. Please consider if this is the type of environment you enjoy being around before submitting an application. 

Submitting an application does not guarantee a spot at the Farmers Market. Once the application is submitted, a review process will take place to ensure there are no duplication of products being sold.  If accepted to the Market, an invoice for payment will be sent via email.
